Burger Bowl Week 10: At Least I’m Not LC

ohiofront

I really miss college.

0-6 last week.  Holy crap.  Tail between the legs this week big time.  I am just waiting for people to start coming up to me today and congratulating me for not shitting or pissing myself.  Buttttttttt they haven’t.  Told you that works!  Desperately need a comeback this week.  Short and sweet.

NCAA Picks:

Boston College (-3.5 ) @ DUKE. Duke can casually score this year.  Too bad they can’t stop anyone.  BC can (at least better than Duke).

OHIO STATE (-18) vs Penn State. Blowout in the Horseshoe.  Penn State coming off emotional homecoming comeback win.  OSU rolls.

Stanford (-5.5) @ ARIZONA STATE. I know I pick the Cardinal every week, but I have man-love for Andrew Luck.  And they’re 6-3 ATS so lay off me.

NFL Picks:

Minnesota (1.5) @ CHICAGO. The Bears suck.  End of story.  They suck.  They were lucky to beat the Bills.  Worst 5-3 team ever. Suck.

DENVER (-1) vs Kansas City. Well say what you want about what it means, but this is my “lock.”  Everyone will bet the Chiefs.  Let them.  Denver coming off a bye at home.  Lock.

Philadelphia (-3) @ WASHINGTON. Revenge game.  Beat McNabb game.  Division game.  Shanahan is an ass.  McNabb is a puss.  Redskins are a joke.  Vick is back.  Cannot see one reason to bet on the Skins.

As always, bet with me and your burgers are FREE!!!!!

Across America HAWAII: Teddy’s Bigger Burgers

Teddy's Bigger BurgersAssociatedcontent.com- Teddy’s Bigger Burgers is located at 134 Kapahulu Avenue in Waikiki. They also have locations in Kailua and Hawaii Kai. But the Waikiki location is right near the beach, as convenient as it gets in Honolulu. There, you can choose between a big burger, a bigger burger, and the biggest burger. All of them are large and delicious, due in part to Teddy’s special sauce. Teddy’s Bigger Burgers also offers crispy french fries, which you will not want to miss. To drink, I highly recommend their thick, rich and sweet shakes. Okay, so Teddy’s Bigger Burgers isn’t the ideal place to eat if you are on a diet, or if you have high cholesterol. But keep in mind you can swim it off in the azure blue Pacific right after lunch.

Richard Blais, a most experimental chef, approaches the American two-hander with a classic “Blaisian” sense of humor. The beef is ground from a blend of hanger steak, short rib and brisket, but pork, veal and turkey also figure prominently. Our favorite burger may well be the rBQ, which is Blais’s riff on Southern barbecue, complete with coleslaw. However, you can still play it safe with the farm burger. Most burgers cost well under $10, but for $39 you may have one with foie gras. We’re not sold on everything, though, such as the “po’ boy” made from shrimp. But we might repeat the buffalo sweetbreads, with sides of ranch and blue cheese foam. Blais claims a repertoire of 30 burger varieties ready to advance at any time, and one special is offered daily. Pickles and many other embellishments are made in-house. The wine list is a major letdown, and red wines are served too warm. Go for one of the well-selected beers or an offering from the milkshake bar, like the Krispy Kreme donut shake. Map it.

Across America FLORIDA: Fish House

Fish House BurgerThe Fish House- Voted the #1 burger by 4 Panel Members. It’s a half pound patty that’s hand formed, rich in flavor and cooked perfectly. It’s smothered in melted American cheese and topped with the absolute best produce we’ve had on the Tour. All served on a delicious, soft, buttered toasted bun. If that doesn’t sound like a perfect burger; I don’t know what does.
