Remember all those childhood summers spent playing the NES indoors when it got too hot outside? Summer vacation, BBQs, and the NES. Ah…Those were the days.

This instructable was inspired by Barry Rosenstein’s The Red Fez Burger from Build a Better Burger Challenge from the Food Network a few years ago. He colored his top bun red to look like a fez to reflect a Moroccan theme. I thought that was the coolest frakkin’ thing ever. (recipe)

This thing is pretty legit.  Nerdy, but legit.  These were the days when playing Mario Bros. and kicking the crap out of your friends and your little brother at it was the centerpiece of your day.  This burger is a tribute to life in the fast line as a 9 year old where picking your nose, recess, peanut butter & fluff, GI Joe’s, Lincoln Logs and Capri Suns were your biggest worries in the world.  So here is a way for your “fun” and the kid inside of you to rekindle those years and not get awkward looks by running inside to get your Gameboy at the next family cookout.  Cheers!
