Corner Bistro Burger

Crowds, chatter, and cold ones just off the curb at the West Village’s Corner Bistro.  This old school McSorley’s-looking burger establishment blends bar, beers and burgers attracting patrons looking to get their mouths around the Bistro Burger.  Jump in line and order your beer dark or light to be served up by veteran bartenders who move quickly and efficiently never skipping a beat.  Be ready to be greeted by jovial gents behind the bar who look as old as the cash registers behind them designed circa Henry Ford’s Model T.  Be ready and not indecisive for your drink of choice as they make the beer selection easy enough for a nun on a school night.

The menu itself is no brain buster either as it could be fit on a small index card its so small. Batting first on the burger board is the Bistro Burger who will be tested for taste and beefy satisfaction tonight.  The waiters are as quick as their bartending counterparts bringing out $2.50 Coors Lights in mugs and repeating yours and friends orders as if he’d been memorizing it for months.  A few minutes later out comes the highlight of the night, The Bistro Burger, as simple as some of its other city cohorts.  Medium-rare burger meat topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, Vidalia onions, and bacon so crisp it curls up at each end and falls into pieces bite after bite.  Chalk this one up for a few adult beverages and a burger that won’t be forgotten.
